How to get your AudD API key
Go to dashboard.audd.io and create a free account (or log in if you already have one).
Once you're in, find your API token on the Dashboard page — it's usually shown near the top, sometimes labeled "Token" or "API Key."
Copy the whole thing and paste it into the field below.
That's it — you only need to do this once per device. It gets saved right in this browser, so you won't need to paste it in again next time you come back here on the same phone/computer.
Switching devices, or your key stopped working? You don't need a brand new account — just go back to dashboard.audd.io and grab your token again, it's the same one, always there waiting for you. If you ever think your key has been seen by someone else, that same dashboard also lets you regenerate it — this creates a fresh token and retires the old one, so paste the new one in here after you do that.

What this actually tells you: this checks your track against AudD's database of already-released, catalogued full songs (Spotify/Apple Music-style). A match means something very similar is already out there — it does not prove your track is AI-generated, and no match doesn't guarantee it's safe either. A match can mean: someone released an AI-generated track with overlapping patterns before you, a shared stock sample or loop pack, a repost, or a coincidence. Treat a match as a reason to listen closely and investigate, not as confirmed proof either way.
Known gap — read this before trusting a "no match" result: distributors like DistroKid flag releases using their own rights-holder sample/stem databases, which catch shared audio fragments (a specific registered stem, loop, or sample) even inside an otherwise original track. This tool only checks for full-track matches against AudD's catalog — it is not checking for that kind of embedded sample/stem overlap, and a "no match found" here does not mean a distributor's stricter system will pass it too. Confirmed case: a track flagged by DistroKid for containing elements of another artist's song came back "no match" here, because the shared element was a fragment/stem-level overlap, not a full-song match. Use this tool as one early signal, not a substitute for your distributor's own check.
